Architectural Artifacts

Adoree and I took a field trip to Architectural Artifacts today, which is located near Chicago’s Ravenswood neighborhood. The enormous showroom includes an eclectic mix of antique furniture and, quite literally, pieces of architecture from all over the world. The collection features everything from ornate mantle pieces from England to giant hand-carved buddha statues from Thailand.

It looked like they’d done some reorganizing since the last time I was there. The store is a bit like browsing a museum where everything is for sale. My favorite pieces were the English telephone booth in the courtyard and the incredibly random spacesuit (pictured above in the lower right corner).
