Architectural Artifacts

Adoree and I took a field trip to Architectural Artifacts today, which is located near Chicago’s Ravenswood neighborhood. The enormous showroom includes an eclectic mix of antique furniture and, quite literally, pieces of architecture from all over the world. The collection features everything from ornate mantle pieces from England to giant hand-carved buddha statues from Thailand.

I’ve been really intrigued lately by the furniture designs of Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. The photos of their exhibitions are definitely worth a look, as is the recent tour of their studio on Apartment Therapy.
